First stop: Nice
Nice, besides being the capital of the French Riviera, is a very lucky city. The Bay of Angels in front, the Alps behind, the Mercantour National Park and the two most glamorous cities in the world, Monaco and Cannes, close by. All this only 1:30h from the ski lifts. Of Nice you will love the charm of the old town, the facades all colorful, the flower market, the art galleries, and the typical restaurants and cafes.
Stage 2: Valberg
Not far away awaits Valberg, the oldest ski resort in the department. Be amazed by the charm of this authentic and welcoming resort, which opened the first TV toboggan in the Maritime Alps in 1936 and celebrated its 80th birthday in the summer of 2017! The warm atmosphere of the Côte d’Azur sunshine, the contrast of traditional village houses and typical farmhouses with modern housing, and the breathtaking nature make this resort truly unique. Valberg sits atop a pass that will allow you to observe the Saint-Honorat mountain range on the west side and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. Stage 3: Island 2000 – Mercantour
Morning departure: towards Isola, the peak of the Southern Alps, with an altitude of 2000 m, on the edge of the Mercantour National Park. This resort offers 3 different sectors adapted to everyone’s levels and needs: the “Pelevos” sector is for beginner skiers, competitors, but also for freestylers, with the snowpark dedicated to them; the “Saint-Sauveur” sector is dedicated to expert skiers, lovers of curves and breathtaking descents, and also for cross-country skiers; finally, the “Lombarde” sector, facing south on the border with Italy, offers pleasant skiing, walking or snowshoeing, amidst the pampering of the sun and the surreal panorama.
Stage 4: Auron
Auron, in the heart of the majestic Alps, offers you 135 km of slopes. With its altiudine up to 2450 meters, it is an ideal stop in any season. In winter it allows everyone to ski according to their level. In summer, on the other hand, it presents centinaia of kilometers of trails that wind through spruces, firs and larches. Auron is perfect for skiing, hiking or snowshoeing!
