In Monaco, there are many entertainments organized to celebrate Christmas.

The Monaco Christmas Village is set up in Port Hercule every year from early December to early January of the following year.

During the Christmas season, the Principality of Monaco organizes decorates itself for the occasion. Every year, for a little more than six weeks, all of Monaco’s neighborhoods are lit up with the colors of Christmas.
Generally, it is in mid-November that the start of the illuminations is given by the Mayor, surrounded by a few members of the City Council and in the presence of members of the Prince’s government.
The choice of lighting decorations and their management are dictated each year by an environmental and ecological commitment according to the guidelines desired by H.H. the Sovereign Prince. Therefore, the concept of energy saving is fully integrated into the specifications and only the most advanced and modern lighting technologies (LEDs and micro-lamps) are used.

Another event is the Monaco Christmas Village. The Monaco Christmas Village is set up in Port Hercule every year, from early December to early January of the following year. Each year, the village has a specific theme.

People will also have the opportunity to enjoy roller skating. The Roller Station will take place at the Stade Nautique Rainier III, instead of the swimming pool and in place of the ice rink. For those who do not have their own skates, rollerblades will be available to visitors – rental included in the entrance fee.

Other entertainments offered are the legendary Christmas Joust and its Chalet in the Jardin des Boulingrins, opposite the Casino de Monte-Carlo. The ideal place for a magical family time, an opportunity to make children dream by offering them an enchanted interlude. The Chalet will offer pancakes, churros and hot drinks.
