Every year, the city of Saint-Tropez hosts Les Nuits du Château de la Moutte.

Large classical and jazz concerts are held in the courtyard of the Château de la Moutte, a castle dating back to the 19th century.

Les Nuits du Château de la Moutte is a music festival that takes place every summer in Saint-Tropez, in the beautiful castle of La Moutte, a historic mansion surrounded by a 10-hectare park. The festival offers eclectic and high-level programming, ranging from baroque to classical, romantic to jazz, featuring internationally renowned artists and young talent. Among the names that have graced the festival stage over the years are Renaud Capuçon, Natalie Dessay, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Michel Portal and many others.

The festival was founded in 1974 at the behest of Emile Hugues, former minister and mayor of Saint-Tropez, who wanted to pay tribute to his wife Anna de Noailles, a poet and patron. The castle of La Moutte was in fact their summer residence and a place of cultural meetings with personalities such as Cocteau, Proust, Gide and Debussy. After Hugues’ death in 1997, the festival was interrupted for a few years until it resumed in 2012 under the artistic direction of Jean-Philippe Audoli.

Each edition of the festival features seven musical evenings, which take place between the castle’s open-air theater and Canebiers Beach. The festival also offers musical lectures, master classes and meetings with artists. In addition, the festival collaborates with other prestigious events, such as the Tsinandali Festival in Georgia, to create exchanges and synergies between different cultures.

Les Nuits du Château de la Moutte is an unmissable event for music and beauty lovers who want to have a unique and refined experience on the French Riviera.
