The Route Napoleon (N85) is a road<\/a> named after the route taken by Napoleon in 1815 on his return from the island of Elba. The road has a total length of 314 km and was opened in 1932. Rich in history, culture, and breathtaking scenery, the Route Napoleon is an emblematic route through the Provence-Alpes-C\u00f4te d’Azur region, perfect for motorcycle enthusiasts. The route starts from the place called Golfo Juan, in the municipality of Vallauris, where Napoleon landed on March 1, 1815. The road winds from the C\u00f4te d’Azur going northwest, at first at the foot of the Alps. The route is marked by statues of the French imperial eagle. Going from south to north it passes through Antibes, Grasse, Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey, Castellane, Digne, Sisteron, Gap, the Col Bayard (1246 m high), Corps, La Mure, Laffrey and Grenoble. <\/p>\n
