The event was founded in 1998 with the aim of enhancing culture and diversity through music. Since then, it has hosted big names from the international scene on its stage, such as Manu Chao, Cesaria Evora, Goran Bregovic, Alpha Blondy, Kassav’, Youssou N’Dour and many others. He also gave space to young emerging talents and original and innovative proposals.
What is special about the event is that it takes place in the Place du Grand Jardin, a historic square in the heart of the city of Vence, surrounded by restaurants, bars, and ice cream parlors. The atmosphere is convivial and festive, and the audience can enjoy the show while sitting on chairs or dancing in front of the stage. The festival is held every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday for two weeks in July.
